ABOUT
The International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM) was founded in 1982 to facilitate communication and exchange between choral musicians throughout the world. Through its diverse range of projects and programs since that time, the IFCM is fulfilling its purpose.
One of IFCM’s projects is the World Symposium on Choir Music (WSCM Istanbul 2023) - an event exploring the current world of choir music and what singing together could look like in the near and far future. This symposium is hosting choirs representing all regions of the world, including as many styles and traditions of ensemble singing as possible, with the aim of celebrating and honoring the human practice of singing together.
The event will take place in Istanbul, Türkiye, from 25-30 April 2023.
For the symposium’s duration, we will host eleven invited choirs (of whom two are professional), and participants who are individuals, groups, or participating choirs.
The Symposium will consist of:

YOUNG 2 - Youth International Cultural Management Program
With the great success of the YOUNG program in World Choral EXPO 2022, we are happy to announce the call for the second edition of the program! Are you aged between 18 and 35? Do you want to be a part of the organizing team of the World Symposium on Choral Music 2023? Then this is a call for you. IFCM and CCA open a call for YOUNG Youth International Cultural Managers to be a part of WSCM 2023. You will have a chance to be a part of the team and get great experience working closely with the organizing team of WSCM 2023.
Participation conditions
Selected young managers will not need to pay a participation fee, and food and accommodation (from April 15th until May 2nd) will be provided by IFCM. However, IFCM is unfortunately not able to cover the travel expenses.
You will be able to attend concerts or rehearsals or some sessions depending on your responsibilities in the organizing team and your schedule. Also, selected young managers will have two free workshops designed primarily to help them improve, exchange knowledge and grow in the cultural management world.

Selection
Selected participants will be informed by January 15th 2023. To secure your place in YOUNG, we will require you to get a copy of the flight/train/Bus ticket in advance of the WSCM.
